Description: Founded in 1900 as a Lowell House Settlement, "to begin the Americanization and humanitarian movement that would prove vitally constructive in the lives of the city's foreign population," the name was changed in 1935 to Farnam House and later to Farnam Neighborhood House. Its aim was to teach nutrition, childcare, and sanitation. There are 16 bound volumes of minutes of meetings (1900-44), attendance records, programs, membership, and registrar's books; letters to the club president Susan Bacon Keith; and photographs and scrapbooks commemorating club activities and events.
