Description: Miner, Read & Tullock was a wholesale grocer headquartered in New Haven with branches in other Connecticut towns. The firm underwent a number of name changes after its inception in 1852 as Stout & Yale: Stout, Yale & Co. (1858-1878); Yale and Bryan (1878-1892); Bryan, Miner & Read (1892-1900); Miner, Read & Garrette (1900-1910); and finally after 1920, Miner, Read & Tullock (incorporated 1935). These records contain correspondence, partnership agreements, deeds, railroad leases, financial papers, tax statements, cashbooks, inventories, trademarks, catalog, advertisements, photos, and other materials. Persons represented include early partners Samuel H. Read (d. 1920) and Ralph J. Miner (d. 1917).
