Description: Compiled by Latham Benjamin Lambert, this collection relates to the history of his family and that of his first wife, Helen Elizabeth Beckley (1902-81). It features correspondence, genealogical materials, pedigree charts, account books, notebooks, deeds, wills, and legal documents. Included are legal documents of Daniel C. Bacon (1791-1820), lawyer in Broome County, NY, correspondence, military records, and other papers of Charles Foster Beckley (1836-1925) including catalog (1875) of his dry goods store in New Haven, C.F. Beckley & Company; town of Berlin, CT, death and burial records (1760-1820), kept by Luther Beckley (1778-1841); land grant (1668) and will of Sergeant Richard Beckley (1618-1690), early landowner in New Haven; and information pertaining to Latham Lambert's fourth great-grandfather, John Graham (1694-1774), first minister in Southbury, CT. It also includes miscellaneous financial records (1851-1879) of First Congregational Society in Southbury; estate inventory, legal documents, and photos, of Jonathan Law Harrison (1839-1879) concerning family affairs and the family home in North Branford, CT deeds and land records of David Hinman (1756-1820), of Southbury; correspondence of David Denison Lambert (1820-1871) and his sisters, Charlotte (1818-1901) and Louisa (1823-1859) Lambert; correspondence, financial papers, biographical materials, calendars, and other papers of David Denison Lambert (1862-1930), teacher, principal, and inventor, including patent for a drinking fountain and photos of his family, automobiles, classes at Horace Day School in New Haven, and buildings at Yale; deeds and guardianship papers of Jane Adams (Hinman) Lambert (1827-1908), of Rocky Hill and New Haven; deeds, wills, and guardianship and estate papers of Jesse Lambert (1693-1773) and his family, of Milford, CT and genealogical materials of the Hinman, Judson, and Williams families.
