Description: This collection contains minutes, annual reports and manuals of the United Way. Originally incorporated as the Community Chest in 1920, the purpose of the organization is to raise money for charitable purposes and to distribute fund either directly or to other agencies. The records include certificate of incorporation and by-laws, articles of association, list of board members (1966-1971), minutes (1921-1985) of board and executive committee meetings , and reports of annual campaigns (1927-1988).
