Description: Blake was a lawyer and parks official; he served on committees such as the Proprietors of the Common and Undivided Lands, the Defenders' Monument of New Haven, and Bridgeport's committee to welcome President Lincoln in 1860. His Papers include the records (1891-1913) of the Defenders' Monument of New Haven Committee with drawings, photographs, and correspondence with sculptor James Edward Kelly; New Haven Park Commission notes, scrapbooks, and memoranda (1852-1934); personal notes, legal papers, correspondence, photographs, and excerpts from published works (1852-1917); and a scrapbook of clippings of political interest (1850-1909) culled from New Haven and Bridgeport newspapers.
