Description: This collection consists of scrapbooks and other family memorabilia compiled by members of the Thompson family in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It contains letters, photographs, postcards, railroad tickets, and genealogical charts. Items of interest include an 1863 draft notice to Henry C. Thompson, material relating to Henry C. Thompson's work as a lighthouse keeper in New Haven, a 1903 New Haven engineering license for Leonard B. Thompson, memorabilia from World War I and the Treaty of Versailles, a 1932 Connecticut driving manual, photographs and clippings about the raising of the Gunship "Philadelphia" from Lake Champlain in 1935, and publications from the Connecticut Tercentenary celebrations in 1938. It also includes two oversized scrapbooks with genealogical charts, maps, photographs, newspaper clippings, telegrams, and other memorabilia, primarily from the late 19th century.
