Description: Henry White, the only son of Dyer White, was a New Haven lawyer interested in real estate, trusts and probate practice, land-title transfer (he copied the land records of New Haven), and was involved in the settling of Noah Webster's estate. He was president of the Union Wharf Co., of the Committee of the Proprietors of Common and Undivided Lands of New Haven, deacon in the First Congregational Church, and a founder of the New Haven Colony Historical Society. His papers include business and personal correspondence, speeches, notes, school papers, genealogical material, and legal papers documenting his career as a real estate, trust, and probate lawyer and active member of New Haven organizations and clubs. Genealogical data include material on the Alling, Downing, FitzAlan, Goodwin, Russell, Wetmore, and White families. Additions include correspondence and other material related to railroads and canals in the Northeast. Forms part of the White Collection (MSS 62).
